The Heartbreak Kid tested well, but critics tore this R-Rated comedy to shreds. For all we know, the movie was actually good, but audiences are finally turning on the pre-madonna, Stiller. I know you all loved ‘Something about Mary’ and ‘Meet the Parents’, but what you may not know is that stiller is an A-1 asshole. Just a few little tid-bits on Stiller:
-The crew and extra’s are not allowed to make eye contact with him on the set (or else).
-He made the ad agency buy extra commercial time for the Heartbreak Kid in Hawaii while he is living there, just so he could see his face while off the mainland
-He fires an average of 3 personal assistants per film (we made this up, but it’s a lot)

This is a direct quote from Stiller regarding his abrasive tude:

“Normally, people tend to shut off their ambitions and competitive thinking because it doesn’t help them much in normal life. But in the movie business you’ve constantly got to prove yourself. So I can be a real asshole on the set sometimes.”

I can’t beleive I’m actually glad to see his movie take second fiddle to The Shit Show Game Plan.
