“Britney Spears’ stay in a psychiatric ward was extended for two weeks under a section in state law that allows patients to be kept for medical treatment if they are found to be gravely disabled or a danger to themselves or others, a person close to the pop star told The Associated Press.

Spears was to be released Sunday from UCLA Medical Center’s psychiatric ward after undergoing a 72-hour mental evaluation.

But doctors and a ward medical officer cited California law to keep her longer, said the person close to Spears, who requested anonymity.”

It’s that time of year again -when celebrities get pregnant the tabloids pay top dollar for the first look at the newborn. According to MSN.com, Nicole Richie is selling pics of her new baby gal, Harlow to People magazine for a cool $1,000,000. Us Weekly and People magazine are in a bidding war for Cristina Aguilera’s li’l dude Max’s pictorial debut; we’re told these pics will go for around 1.5 mil.

But the “big money” will go to Brad and Angelina’s (possible) twin-kiddo photos. The bidding hasn’t started yet, but their first baby, Shilo’s pics sold for a retarded 4 million dollars -but, the loot did go to charity, so that makes it a little less retarded.

Well first Amy, then Britney, and now chalk another one up to rehab for Eva Mendes. The actress allegedly checked into rehab at the Cirque Lodge in Utah for substance abuse issues. But look at it on the bright side, at least she’s not Britney Spears.

Awwwe, this is so sad. Another great talent in rehab. I loved her oscar nominated performance as Sara in Hitch.

Last month, Britney Spears was seen shopping for homes in Hermosa Beach. Derober has learned that she has actually purchased a Spanish style beach front home for 6 million dollars. The original asking price was 8.5 million. Britney might be crazy, but she knows where to find a good bargain. One problem here: Hermosa Beach is NOT Malibu. There are no gated communities in Hermosa Beach. It’s very community oriented and young. We would know. The Derobers used to live there. In fact, stay tuned, we’re headed there this afternoon to do a little digging.
