A combination of bad reviews and Wilson’s off-screen problems sent Drillbit Taylor to the bottom of this weekends box office with only a $10M opening. The Apatow production got zero McLovin’ from critics. My favorite review from John Biefuss read, “Drillbit is to Judd Apatow as ‘Harry and the Hendersons’ is to Steven Spielberg.

The two have been spotted out and about more than a couple times in the past week. This would be bad. How bad? I think Egon Spengler from Ghostbusters summed it up best:

“Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light. Total protonic reversal.”

Owen Wilson took a break from hanging out with Woody Harrelson in Miami to find his mojo again. He seems to have conquered a nameless rabble of victims on his vacation this weekend. I’m sure the boys will commend you, Owen.

John:
I commend you, Owen. Enjoy yourself. A few years ago, I worked as a waiter at La Serenata in Santa Monica. The owners can kiss my ass by the way but the food is amazing. Anyway, Owen used to come in late-night by himself with the LA Times in hand. He’d sit in the corner while people stared at him and Owen would read the paper from beginning to end. Sometimes, people would ask for an autograph or picture and he never said ‘no’ even though nobody likes to be bothered while they eat. Good tipper as well. A real class act.

What do Bozo The Clown and Owen Wilson have in common? They both had a drug problem. They both attempted suicide (although, sadly, Bozo never lived to attempt it again. And both of there noses are famous for stealing the spotlight.
