Darby Gunpowder: My excitement when receiving this month's Playboy was quickly erased when I tore open the black privacy plastic and found something horrible. No, Ashley Harkleroad was not on the cover again. Included in this month's 'Girls of the Big Ten' issue was a full page advertisement insert for the 'Lord's Prayer Diamond Pendant Necklace' No joke. No hoax. No photoshop. The insert even had: "Supplement to Playboy Magazine" printed on it, so it was NOT a mistake.
There have been rumors floating around that Playboy has been strapped for cash with layoffs and party cancellations. The fact that Playboy took ad dollars from a Christian business that obviously despises the Adult Entertainment industry is proof that Playboy is barreling through couch cushions for loose change. I hate to say it, but when Hef passes on, the magazine will most likely die with it.
